Academic Year 2009 - 10

Social Events Gallery

During the course of the academic year The Straus Institute strives to offer a balance of both academic and social events, giving the fellows an opportunity to interact in an informal setting and discuss their ongoing projects, their families or the weather as they will. Among the events held at 22 Washington Square North are weekly Afternoon Teas, Evening Terrace Drinks and the occasional informal luncheon. In addition to these regularly schedules events various special and cultural events also take place throughout the year, providing ample opportunity for fellows to take full advantage of their time in New York. In 2009-10 these events included tickets to see the St. Petersburg Ballet and a performance of Dohnányi, Dicterow, Phelps & Mozart's Sinfonia concertante by the New York Philharmonic.
