ABOUT Daniel E. & Joyce G. Straus

Daniel E. Straus ('81) is a principal and CEO of several companies that invest in and operate healthcare service businesses, including those in the long-term care, assisted living, institutional pharmacy, hospice and managed care industries.  Previously, Mr. Straus was the principal stockholder, president and co-CEO of The Multicare Companies, Inc., which was sold in 1997.  Mr. Straus is a member of New York University School of Law's Board of Trustees, serving on its Executive Committee since 1998.

 

Joyce G. Straus received her BA from Barnard College, Columbia University in 1980, and received her MS in Physical Therapy from College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University in 1982.  She is a pediatric physical therapist who, until 1999, worked with developmentally disabled children in a variety of settings, including early intervention. Since then, she serves on the Board of Directors for a variety of organizations and has been involved in community service and philanthropic endeavors.
